A bit sore, but good.
My shoulders are sore from my grocery weight lifting I did the other night, but yesterday I went jogging and it felt damn good. I was out of breath, but not like I felt I had to stop. My friend & I went for about a half hour with intermittent walking & jogging.
Considering I hadn't gone in weeks, I wasn't sure how I was going to do, but it felt good. And we pushed each other which was good. And we even held full conversations while jogging.
We were definitely tired at the end, but not unbearably so. Being our first trip out together I think we did a great job. I can't wait to go back out there.
Of course its raining again so I can't go out tonight, but I'm going to try to do some indoor strength training tonight after rehearsal.
Gotta keep this up! No excuses right?
Until next time
PS...is anyone else having annoying issues w/the site the past few days? I've lost all my side links. Ugh.
Because if you fake it enough, it might actually become reality. One woman's journey towards a better self.

Withdrawal from working out? INconceivable!
I never thought I'd ever have this problem, but I think my body is going through workout withdrawal.Yesterday I did not work out for the first day since the previous Saturday--that's seven straight days of some sort of activity (I don't think I'd ever done that), and I think I'm paying for it!
My back ached yesterday and today I feel like I'm completely hungover. I was just getting to the point where my body was not sore from doing the Shred & I stopped and now I'm feeling an all over soreness & exhaustion like I'd been trudging all throughout the land for days swash buckling and fighting off giants in search of reaching the lovely Buttercup.*
And I'm a little afraid it's going to be even harder to get back into it and that I'll start making excuses again and lose that momentum. Not that I want to let that happen, but I know me...I can be quite difficult when I'm tired.
My glimmer of hope is the plan to go to the tap dance class tonight w/my friend from WW after our meeting so that I naturally have the exercise high and want to do more. Plus the exhilaration from putting on my tap shoes again for the first time in 10 years.
This withdrawal from exercise is something completely new to me, but I hope I use it's power for good, not evil. Like Vizzini using his unmatched intelligence to try to outwit the man in black but kept getting his plans foiled as Wesley passed his tests one by one in order to save the love of his life.**
Until next time.
*Sorry...I was having a Princess Bride moment there.
**Yeah...Once I get going...hey, it's an awesome movie.***

Ow Ow Ow Ow...
I was feeling ambitious today.
I rode my bike to work.
Tomorrow there's going to be hell to pay. On my muscles.
Yes, so under a most delusional idea, I set out on my first biking adventure, traveling the 3.0 miles to work. What in heaven's name was I thinking??? Hahahah. Okay, so it wasn't that bad. I'm really quite proud that I did it, and a little amused that I get to brag about it. What? My Car? No, sorry, I biked in today...
It took about a half an hour. I guess it averages ten minutes per mile. And I walked in all red faced, sweaty & out of breath. It took a while to get back to normal. I can't say I'm really looking forward to the trip home either...and I'm already sore.
But I want to continue this...I think I will aim for once a week. Build myself up. Plus I was biking on the sidewalk which today seemed a lot safer than traveling next to speeding vehicles, but it was that much more difficult going over the broken up stone pieces and dodging walkers and telephone poles.
Anyway--that's my story for today. At least I did something active!!
Here's a photo of my pretty pretty bike:
