Hump Day--downhill or uphill?

Halfway through the work week. Ah.

Well, my weigh in on Monday wasn't as disastrous as I figured it'd be. I am down 2.2 lbs since last week (following an almost 4lb gain after a food feast on Sunday)--so still not where I was hoping to be at this point of the summer, but at least it was a loss.

I also have been making sure I get in workouts--whether walking, extra movement, and even a morning gym routine yesterday.

The problem now is resisting temptation. Like last night we went out for Chinese food. I got a simple beef & vegetables dish with brown rice (not steamed, but still better than sesame chicken...). My boyfriend on the other hand ordered sweet & sour chicken (fried) and FRIED WONTONS!!! And I didn't just have one...or two (even though that's really all I needed)...I had four. Why? Because they were just sitting there. He had half of them and left the other half just staring at me. Taunting me.

And then we went to the movies. And he had popcorn. I never have popcorn at the movies. But I had some with him. Not too much. maybe a 1/2 cup to a cup...but STILL!

First of all I have to figure out how to ask for him to help me NOT tempt me with this kind of food. He's willing to do that, but he's picky with food & usually ends up going with all the stuff that I love but is HORRIBLE for me...and second--if he does get that I have to learn not to ruin the rest of my day's good efforts with stealing or sharing his food! I don't want to ask him to change what he's eating and feel like I'm imposing, but it is not helping me!! HELP!!!

Well, I'm working to make the rest of the week better, plus keep up my workouts & walks to counteract my shortcomings with food choices.

For those of you with significant others--any suggestions on asking for help on cutting down the bad foods?

Until next time

Starting fresh

A yo-yo dieter I am not. But for the past year, I've been doing nothing but bouncing around on the scale, and lately, bouncing my way up the scale.

I've had enough.

So I'm starting fresh. I don't want to say I'm starting over because I really have come a long way from where I was two years ago when I joined Weight Watchers, I've learned a lot...but I still have a long way to go.

Next week my life is about to change drastically--but for the better. My boyfriend of about four months is about to move to NY from Arizona and move in with me! And I want to use this opportunity for the chance to reorganize my life and my health for the better.

I went to my meeting tonight, and even though I haven't been in two weeks (with 30th birthday and memorial day in between), I lost .2 lbs. Okay--so that's practically nothing, but considering how little effort I put into it, I am happy with .2 lbs. It's the first time I've lost anything since probably February.

And now with full ambition, I am refreshing my commitment to my plan. I am starting from the beginning and each week I am going to take the topic of the week, and use that as a challenge to work my way down to my goal weight, and to a healthy lifestyle. I'm first starting with the basics of Weight Watchers, re-visiting the building blocks that I'd let run amiss over the past two years.

So here we go...again.

Week 1: Plan basics & tracking: Start eating smarter
Starting Weight: 196.8
Weekly goal: Track everything, pay attention to portion sizes & hunger patterns. Choose foods wisely.

Until next time

Weigh-in update & Happiness rambling.

Weigh in was good--2.8 lbs (thank goodness some of that 8 lb gain is gone...). I'm happy but I've still got a ways to go considering at the beginning of September I was at 181 and now I'm at 186.

At our meeting we talked about emotional eating, which I don't consider to be one of my flaws, but in a way it is...I don't eat because I'm sad or angry. I eat out of boredom and happiness. Boredom I've discussed constantly. Eating out of happiness on the other hand is something we don't really consider emotional eating.

Holidays, birthdays, weddings, girls (or guys) night out, etc. These are all happy celebrations or occasions. And this is when my defenses go a little slack. It's the "oh, I love mom's coffee cake that she only makes once a year, I have to have a piece. Just one" But of course that one piece was after mom's penne vodka that she only makes for special occasions and the special cheese that she got from Seattle that she put out for appetizers, and the two (I'm being conservative) glasses of wine...etc.

Or going out with the girlfriends and only having drinks and appetizers as we sit and chat about the latest news and gossip. But those drinks (which again always end up being at least a couple) add up as do the appetizer. And then you're in the mood for dessert which you split, but still is big enough for six of you and there's only two or three...

Not that there's anything wrong with these outings, but if they're more than once every few weeks, these things add up. So with the holidays coming up (ugh), these special happy occasions suddenly are a happening a few times a month, or even per week.

So what do we do? Accept and move on? Plan for the inevitable eating by getting in extra exercise that day/week? Or limit your celebration eating? I guess some of these events are easier than others. I'm more likely to restrain myself at family events than with my friends. I don't know why really, but I'd rather gossip and giggle over food and drinks than water and salad.

At the meeting we talked about assessing hunger signals--when you're hungry vs. when you just want food to satiate an emotion; knowing when you're satisfied and when it's time to stop eating; and not letting yourself get so hungry and end up making poor food choices or binging. This is something I really haven't consciously worked on. Maybe it's time for me to pay attention to these hunger signals and question why I'm eating when I'm not hungry. Easier said than done when it comes to these "happy" eating occasions, but it's something worth trying.

On that note....time for dinner!

Confession

I didn't run last night. I didn't walk. Even though it was gorgeous out & I got home early.

I ate. Useless stuff too.

I watched lots of TV. And then I went to bed.

I was just tired. And lazy.

But tonight I'm going running. And the rest of the week will be productive. I needed last night.

Thanks for all the responses yesterday for my milestone! It does feel great. Which is why even after last night I'm ready & raring to go!

Until next time

Gaining momentum

This week's weigh in did end up with a 1lb gain. I was okay with that. Although in the back of my mind I was secretly hoping that I had somehow magically figured out the perfect balance of indulgence and health to possibly see a loss, I knew reality was going to tell me otherwise.

And honestly for all the eating and the minimal activity I did, 1lb isn't all that bad.

Since then I've been working on getting back to normal eating habits. During the day (due to my limited cash flow) I've been sticking with food brought from home--sandwiches and a veggie. Plus cereal for breakfast. Monday's dinner was homemade (really good salmon...honey & wasabi glaze along with rice & veggies), but I indulged in some Low Fat Frozen yogurt to go over my dailies and into my weekly points.

Last night's dinner was also really good although we ate out at one of my favorite mexican restaurants. The appetizer portion Chicken Quesadilla and a Tropical salad with mango & peppers (minimal dressing) were the good choices. The frozen margarita, tortilla chips and two out of four fried plantains which came w/my salad were the not so good choices. Actually the only one I really should have passed on was the margarita because of course it was empty calories. And out of the weekly points I used, that was more than half. At least I didn't get dessert or any movie candy. At home I just had a glass of milk (okay--so it was chocolate milk--FF syrup though!) before I went to bed.

I do need to go food shopping because my choices are getting very limited at home, and I have absolutely no fresh fruits or veggies. I've managed to have frozen veggies that I'll pre-cook and bring to work, but I'm really missing the fruit.

As for exercise, it's been so hot & humid and although I've gone out for walks at lunch, I definitely am slacking on the fitness bandwagon. Tonight I have free to run, but it's supposed to rain. It's supposedly going to cool off a bit though, so maybe an early morning run tomorrow.

It's been interesting getting back into the groove--I spent much of yesterday looking at WW articles online to see if anything caught my eye to help motivate me. I think I'm going to revisit some of those Motivating strategies (Tools for Living) and give myself a kick in the butt.

One thing I am going to be working towards is looking and feeling good for my 11 year HS reunion/happy hour at the end of the month. Yes, 11 year. Our class was a little slow on the planning...at least it's better than the 12 year which the class before us will be celebrating with us. Anyway--my point is I have something to move towards. I certainly want to hit the 50 lb mark (SO CLOSE!) before then, but more importantly I want to feel good for it. And I already have a dress to look smashing in!!

Until next time

Boot Camp Days Sixteen, Seventeen

Dear Sgt Fyt-

Thank you for your report. The constructive criticism was just what I needed. This week I am taking all of that seriously. I am holding that NO EXCUSES mantra to heart this week. Also the encouragement from my fellow trainees was inspiring. Here are my updates:

Monday
Food: Dinner ended up being a turkey & cheese sandwich. Also had cantaloupe & yogurt w/oats & a few WW snack bars. I went over my points a bit, but not ridiculously. Tracked everything.
Exercise: None

Tuesday
Food: PB&J for breakfast, half turkey & cheese sandwich, baked chips & carrots for lunch, peach, yogurt, WW snack bars (2--movies), cereal. Went over points by 1 pt. Tracked everything
Exercise: 40 minute jog/walk=2.5 miles

Wednesday
Food: Yogurt for b'fast, lunch-split pea soup w/ham, soup crackers, cauliflower, snow peas & carrots w/spicy sauce. Planned snack: kiwi. Dinner TBD
Exercise: Planned Mid-day walk, evening jog

Boot Camp Days Thirteen, Fourteen, Fifteen

Miserable Monday. Why did I even bother getting out of bed.

Here's the run-down

Friday eve: McDonalds hamburger & fries, running with kiddies

Saturday: Egg beaters & healthy stuff omelet w/cheese on light bread, homemade pasta salad w/chicken (light mustard vinaigrette dressing), cookies, cherries; walk/jog 3 miles--best jog yet, but really tired at end

Sunday: Picnic lunch with turkey & cheese wraps & leftover pasta salad, cantaloupe, various appetizers for dinner, no conscious exercise.

Today: PB&J on light bread, salmon & salad, sorbet, planned run/dvd tonight after weigh in.

I'm really struggling through today. Not food-related, just motivation--due to a variety of factors. The only motivation I've had was looking at my summer to-do list and seeing "bikini" as one of them. A little over two weeks til July 4th beach weekend...this is why I even enlisted in boot camp. I think I needed that little reminder, but I also seriously need a drill sergeant on my butt to keep me going no matter what.

Who wants the job?

Boot Camp Day Eleven

I am so proud of myself for yesterday's run. I did so well. I really pushed myself and then I had boundless energy the rest of the night.

This morning on the other hand...

Anyway, I was out jogging/walking for about 40 minutes, but we went further in our intervals than we usually do and I felt so much stronger. The last push was a killer, but we made it.

I used my nifty new WW pedometer for the first time. Tracks steps, mileage, and even APs for the day or for a specific workout. I got 2 for the run.

Then it was off to my little cousin's house for his b'day party. I stopped at Dunkin Donuts for my favorite Turkey Sausage Egg White Flatbread & an iced coffee. Well that iced coffee kicked in almost immediately because when I got to my cousin's house, I was dancing around and was even coerced into running some more with the kids (after ice cream cake of course). Insane. It was great though.

After all that I went home and had some more of those cherries which actually seem to be getting sweeter.

Today my meals were o-kay...breakfast was cereal again but then I didn't have a prepared lunch and decided to get chili in the cafeteria and some vegetables which was all fine, but my points just disappeared. After a snack of a super sweet kiwi, I have just 2.5 points left for the rest of the evening. That is not good news. Plus I dont' think I'll have time to go for a run before choir tonight.

I'll make the most of it, but I definitely want to keep up this good momentum.

Rain rain go away....

Until next time

Boot Camp Day Nine

Wow--the hard work pays off--Sgt Fyt is happy with my progress I hear...now it's full speed ahead to make him and myself proud!

Last night I went food shopping with this whole meal plan in mind: cook once, eat all week. I got some recipes from Martha Stewart's Everyday Food magazine which I have a subscription to but haven't really used since I got it.

Well by the time I got home I didn't have any energy for cooking so I had some cereal and cherries which weren't as sweet as they should have been.

But here are the meals I planned on cooking this week and now have almost all the food for:

Oh I'm getting hungry just looking at those photos...

Except now I won't be home to cook tonight and now it looks like I won't be cooking tomorrow, Thursday OR Friday. I hope all that food doesn't go to waste (especially based on how much it all cost!!!).

Anyway--Today I'm pretty much on plan, though I haven't had an opportunity to take a walk since the weather's been crummy.

Breakfast: Cereal & milk
Lunch: 1/2 tuna sandwich from yesterday, carrots, cherries, some tortillas
Snack: A few animal crackers may have crossed my path
Dinner: TBD...I'm thinking pizza with lots of veggies

Boot Camp Days Six, Seven, Eight

Another Whirlwind weekend. Drill sergeant let me out to see how I'd do on my own. And I think I did pretty well. If I hadn't had an insane week of eating, I would have had plenty to work with this weekend. But I did have one accomplishment on Sunday...see below.

Friday eve
: still points crazy--managed to keep within my points for dinner and avoided dessert like the plague. Also avoided alcoholic drinks cuz there was no reason to tack on extra points. Score one for Julia. Didn't exercise...deduct scorepoint.

Saturday: Spent the morning monitoring HS students as they took their SATs. Breakfast was banana, coffee & nutrigrain bar (3 pts! so not worth it). Lunch was leftover chicken & rice. Dinner was beer (light), and mexican. I went for a jog/walk during the day though--good stuff, but my endurance wasn't as good as it had been. Still, I went.

Sunday: Egg beater, spinach, turkey & cheese omelet (SO easy in the microwave!), and then a picnic in Central Park. Tried to eat mostly fruits, but there was lots of cheese & bread too. Oh, and champagne and wine...I didn't overdo it though and got in as much water as possible. Got some sunshine. Fit in a brisk 40 minute walk when I got home since I heard the drill sergeant taking roll call.

Not ridiculous, but could have been better.

My big accomplishment for the weekend...I WORE A BIKINI!!!!! Or at least half of it. At the park yesterday I wanted to get some sunshine & so I wore my new bikini top with shorts. There were no photos as far as I know, which probably is better, but I wish I could have documented it. It didn't look fantastic, but it looked pretty good (at least when I stood up). Hopefully it will serve as motivation to keep going to wear the bottoms too!

This week I'm working to get past last weeks insanity and start fresh with a plan

Today: Quick breakfast-mozzarella. Lunch: healthy tuna, rye, cheese, carrots, snow peas, roasted zucchini/squash. Yum. I'm full. I weigh in tonight and then I'm going food shopping for the week. I will try to take a walk before it rains this afternoon and then do some strength training tonight.

Boot Camp Day Two

Crazy day--golf outing for work. No planned meals

Brunch: Coffee w/milk & cream, Egg white omelet w/veggies, cheese, & ham, 1/2 Belgian waffle w/syrup & fruit & fresh whipped cream, lotsa fruit

Linner: Minimal hors d'oeuvres. About 1/4-1/2 cup of the following...Mozz & tomato salad, string bean salad, wild rice & cranberries, vegetable ratatouille, pasta w/sundried tom cream sauce...roast beef (less than one thin slice)

Dessert: mini pecan pie, mini cookie pie, part of chocolate fudge pie, 1/4 c ice cream

Snack: Pretzels (too many)

Exercise: 25 minute walk

I was pretty good, though I probably could have skipped the dessert and the Belgian waffle, and the hors d'oeuvres just kept coming at me! But they were soooooooo good

Hard to stay on plan when not in control of your own meals, but it's a learning process. At least I threw in the walk to cut some of that.

The other problem was when I got home at 9pm. Because I had dinner & dessert so early, I was hungry again...or at least I felt like I should be eating. And then I had a lot. I almost wasn't going to list this...BUT THIS IS BOOT CAMP!!!

Thursday will also be a challenge in meals at a work event where they usually serve pizza, but tomorrow I'll try to have some snacks or substitutes on hand to make sure I stay within my plans.

Food choices and other ramblings

Halfway through hell week at the theater and I'm exhausted.

Not only am I exhausted, I am succumbing to all sorts of bad food choices. Late night eating, snacking on cookies & chips at rehearsals, not getting in my 8 healthy guidelines...

I could blame it on being busy, but it's not that. I'm making conscious decisions to snack and to choose the foods I am choosing. After eating dinner there's no need to have that many oreos at rehearsal (even if they are reduced fat), there was no reason to finish off that jar of peanut butter (also reduced fat), and there was certainly no reason last night for me to make those Pillsbury cinnamon twists at 12:30 and then proceed to eat half the batch.

It's laziness, it's poor choices, and its' resorting to old bad habits. But they're all excuses that are slowing my progress of not only my weight loss, but changing my lifestyle.

I disappoint myself when I do this. If I keep falling back into these old habits, what's going to happen when I reach my goal weight? As much as I would like to say--okay, I don't have to watch what I eat or exercise anymore, I know that it's something I will have to constantly be aware of so I don't end up gaining the weight back. As hard as weight loss is, the thought of maintaining it is kind of scary. I don't know if I can do it. I know that if I don't change these bad habits I'll end up falling into the same routine all too quickly.

Well, it's something I've got to work on. But until this weekend (and this show) is over, I'm just going to have to muddle through-maybe a little more successfully than the 1st part of the week. Hopefully Saturday I can rest up & even exercise. Monday I'll have to grin & bear what the scale says & then just hop back on the right path and start rebuilding those healthy habits.

Until next time.

Weigh in blues

Last night's weigh in and meeting were a little tough for me for some reason.

I lost .6 lbs. Of course I'm happy that I lost, but after last week's gain, I was assuming it would be more of a loss since it was my normal time of the month to gain. And I knew I would have gained a bit from my hell week, but again, I thought this week would have been a bigger loss. That means I had gained 2 lbs from when I saw the glimmer of the 180s two weeks ago.

When I saw that I was definitely bummed. I guess it is a wake up call for how easily I can slip back into old habits.

But this is why I like the meetings. The topic was "Take Control"--of your internal and external environments...ways to manage your feelings, ways to manage your environment. I brought up the fact that I was struggling with my eating right now and it turned into an "about me" session. Hey--I could use one every now & again. I didn't mean it to be, but I think I needed to put this on the table for my own benefit. I've tried to be so strong through this and recently I've been feeling really vulnerable, really out of control with how I manage my food. So to talk about it made me think about it and is now making me asses what needs to be done.

Granted yesterday I went home and snacked on pretzels & peanut butter after having a filling dinner and even dessert, putting me about 12 points over my dailies and it's only Monday...

But I really want to nail down this issue now to be able to move forward and achieve all the goals I was talking about yesterday.

Until next time

Hoppity Hop Hop

Look at that Easter Candy Go!!! (sorry--this image was too funny)

Why is it that most of the time I don't crave chocolate or sweets, but now that there's all this fun Easter Candy around...why can't I keep away from it?

Jelly beans, chocolate eggs, whopper eggs...and I haven't even gotten to the Peeps!!

Last night I had another night where I found myself just eating and eating. I did go for my c25k jog which was excellent & felt so good, but when I got back I just didn't make the best of it.

I started out good with a great sandwich...turkey, ham, avocado, mustard & sundried tomatoes on toasted bread, with some mozzarella balls on the side. Yum. But then I had more mozzarella, pretzels & most of a container of hummus, grapes & strawberries, and then a load of jelly beans! Most of it wasn't that bad except for the jelly beans, but why was it necessary to eat that much??? I was satisfied after the sandwich. And even the hummus & pretzels weren't that bad. The fruit was certainly good. And I would have added to that a frozen yogurt sandwich if they hadn't been melted (because my freezer wasn't properly closed). If 23 Jelly beans are 3 points, I probably wasted at least 6-8 points on them, but of course I wasn't portioning anything.

I felt so ashamed and didn't even calculate points. This is not going in a good direction. At least the next three nights I'll be busy so I won't be sitting at home in front of the TV, but I've GOT to beat this bad habit of nighttime tv/boredom eating!

Any suggestions?

Until next time.

Back to life, back to reality

So I knew last week was going to be a tough week. I got through it o-kay, but I certainly was not surprised at my gain this week. 2.6 lbs

I'm half bummed, half happy though about the number.

Bummed because no matter what I am expecting and what I tell myself, a gain is no fun, especially when I've been doing so well.

However, I am happy because it could have been worse. After a week of non-tracked unbalanced eating and minimal exercise which coincides with my normal TOM weight gain (anywhere from 1-3lbs), it was only 2.6 lbs. Plus, I realized after, I had forgotten to take off my belt and cardigan, which I usually do, so that's like half a pound right there.

Still, I already started my return to my healthy habits. Sunday I went food shopping filling my cart with mostly fruits & veggies & healthy snacks. Saturday I started the c25k again (that killed me) and I also danced like a maniac to a live band Saturday night burning at least 7 pts. Yesterday & today have been great points days, and although I couldn't bring myself to run last night (it was cold & I felt yucky), today is gorgeous & I fully intend to do my 20 min run as soon as I get home.

The next couple of weeks should be okay for the most part. I've got Palm Sunday and Easter to plan out my meals, so unless I go on any unplanned PMS binges (even my binging last night was just rice cakes...) then I should be fine. Gotta keep up the exercise though!!

Back into my groove. :)

Until next time

Monday, March 23, 2009

No time, but I still gotta celebrate...

I never thought I'd see this number...certainly not on a scale...1-8-9.

189.

Okay, it's actually 189.6 which is almost 190...but 189!!!!! YAAAAAY!!!!

Honestly I didn't know what to expect at today's WI. I went way over my daily & weekly points last week with a lot of randomly high point foods, and today I ate quite a bit before the WI; but I was also running around a lot for work & probably burning extra calories. Plus the C25k I'm sure helped.

Whatever it was...WAHOO!!!

This week is going to be especially tough for me. With our dinner on Thursday, there's lots to do and little time. Most importantly I'm struggling trying to put together a video for work with my computer which is giving me a hard time saying it doesn't have enough memory to do things...I really just want to push it off a cliff. So until this week is done my routine is going to be anything but normal.

I should have gone out for my jog tonight, but it was so freaking cold & I just was not feeling it. I'm hoping to go out tomorrow morning, but...well, we all know how I do with morning workouts....I don't. On Saturday I graduated to Level 2 of the C25k which was really tough, but I felt very accomplished that I did it. Those 90 second sprints killed me, but damn I felt good. Stronger. Superwoman has got nothin on me. :)

Until next time

As for weigh in...

I was down .4 lbs yesterday. Huh?

I figure it will catch up with me next week. And obviously the resolution to that was to go home & have a hearty dinner including fries, a half pint of ice cream, and no exercise.

At least I went for a walk today. My decision to have the turkey meatloaf for lunch wasn't all that brilliant though...

Bikini bikini bikini...

A Dismal Monday, soon to be forgotten

I am not looking forward to tonight's weigh in, but I will try to go. I actually will be really busy tonight getting ready for my trip tomorrow, but I do want to weigh in, even if I can't stay for the meeting.

I am not looking forward to it though because overeating day turned into overeating week. Not ridiculously, but more than it should have. I think I'm sort of in PMS mode because I just felt like I couldn't stop, and that's usually when it happens. Plus I got ZERO exercise this weekend.

With any luck I will have stayed the same on the scale. No, with any luck I will have lost weight. But since that is likely not the case, I hope I at least stayed the same. I will be okay if I did gain knowing fully well that I did not do a whole lot to prevent it, but I hope that doesn't happen.

On the positive side, this week starts a busy and hopefully active week. Fitness center, lots of walking around cities, and most importantly, pre-made food. Now while that sounds dangerous (since I'm not preparing it myself and have no control over the ingredients), I feel like it's better because I won't have access to all the junky foods to munch on in between, and at night, which is really what ruins my efforts. Plus when I'm around other people (especially strangers), I tend to eat better than when I'm on my own.

Now, to remember to track everything...Here's to a great week :)

Until next time.

Food be gone

I don't know what happened.

I was so excited on Tuesday about my new-found energy, and I was being really conscious about what I was eating and everything...

And then Tuesday night I did not make dinner. But I did eat. I ate my leftover spinach dip. And I ate triscuits. And I ate cheese. And salami. To attempt to save myself I ate a bag of baby carrots. Pretty much the whole bag.

And then yesterday I stayed home and ate some more. More cheese, more salami, finished the carrots, and the triscuits, and the brownie muffins. Plus pretzels, cereal, a cucumber...And for dessert--chocolate.

And the only exercise I got was the occasional trip to the bathroom or to the fridge to find something else to binge in.

I did not count points but I'm sure it was somewhere along the lines of 1000. Okay, maybe a little less.

I don't know what got into me. I couldn't stop myself. I knew I was sabotaging myself. Why couldn't I stop??? For TWO DAYS!

I don't know what it was. I feel like crap now. I suppose I just have to get myself back on track again, but I feel like such an idiot for falling into this routine which has destroyed me so many times. There was no good reason for it. I knew I could have just as easily spent a little money and purchased some real food that would have gotten me through it without so much guilt.

But all is said and done and I need to forgive myself for screwing up, and get right back on track.

Forgive and forget. Well, maybe not forget, but learn from my mistakes.

Until next time.

The weight of not knowing

Okay-normally I'm not very nervous about my weigh-ins.

But today I'm kind of nervous/excited to see if I've made my goal for the week.

On one hand, I didn't get too much exercise, and I was a little over the top point-wise this weekend...

But on the other hand, I've had a ton of energy all week & have been randomly dancing and doing my rock n' wash every few days...and the rest of the week I've been having an abundance of fruit & veggies and keeping my point values within my daily range.

The biggest reason why I'm kind of worried is my ridiculous crackers/wine/cheese extravaganza on Saturday. With my "book-to-movie" club being just two of us, my friend and I finished off a bottle of Merlot complimented by lots of cheese & crackers as well as an excellent apple-jalapeno jelly/cream cheese dip. Plus more crackers, Milano cookies, lots of pretzels...I couldn't even begin to add up all the points I ate. It was yummy though. Plus yesterday, even though overall I had a pretty healthy group of meals with basically no other snacks in between, a small helping of fries and a large helping of Salmon put me far over my daily points.

So we'll see what happens this evening. I really wont' be able to stay for the meeting because I'm going out to dinner. It all depends on what time I can get my butt out of work. I hope I can sit for the earlier meeting because I know those help keep me excited about the weight-loss process. So we'll see.

But I'm still excited :)

Until next time
